Today, the Krummbach is a destination for walkers seeking relaxation. The Krummbach has retained some of its monastic tranquillity to this day. Ancient giant trees, which already stood in the days of Napoleon and Prince Metternich, line the path. Trout float away in the crystal-clear water, leaving behind small clouds of sand. A woodpecker hammers in the dark depths of the Fürstenwald forest.
The stream was the center of a technically highly developed canal system. Numerous interconnected watercourses and ponds supplied water and energy for the monastery, the monastery brewery and the monastery mill. The Ochsenhausen monastery already had a central water supply during the Renaissance.
The monks have long since left the monastery and the clattering of the monastery mill has fallen silent. However, the Krummbach stream has been preserved and is now a stop on the "Mühlenstraße Oberschwaben".
